At 906 Technologies, we can usually help repair a water damaged phone, but there are a few things you can do that help save your device before bringing it to us.
1. Grab it!
Whether you forget to pull your phone out of your pocket before a swim, or you drop it in the toilet, the first thing you need to do is grab it. The longer your device spends time submerged, the more likely recovery will not be possible.
2. Turn it off
If your phone hasn’t turned off on it’s own, turn it off manually right away. Keeping it turned on increases the chance of short the circuit board which ruins the device for good.
3. Dry it off
Dry off your phone and remove the battery or microSD card, if possible.
4. Don’t blow dry it
Blow dryer can heat up a phone too much and damage the internal components beyond repair.
